Tablet netbooks became really fashionable lately. And there’s no wonder why… imagine you could have both a computer and a rotating screen in the same time, and the things you could do: you could deliver much better presentations and well –yes - watch movies while being on an airplane without using so much space.

But that's only the beginning. First of all, what is a tablet netbook? Well, a mini laptop usually up to 12 inch in terms of display size, that comes with a swivable touch screen, like a tablet PC. But, as a true netbook, it is pretty affordable, unlike other computer with touch-displays available before.

So, there are such machines with Atom hardware inside, but i do recommend going for something better, like a machine built on the Intel Core 2 Duo platform. In terms of displays, you can choose from capacitive or resistive screens. The last are indicated if you plan to use your tablet mini laptop to take notes, otherwise, go for the first option.

Also, make sure you get a device with a proper hinge and rotating mechanism. Because that screens coverts, there will be quite some pressure over that hinge in time, and it's best to pick a device with a solid designed one from the start.

Having said that, here’s a list with some of the best tablet netbook pc available on the market:

Asus EEE PC t101mt

Unfortunately, not too many good things to say about this netbook tablet pc. The design is pretty good, but the computer comes with Windows 7 Starter, which does not support multi-touch, but this is not necessarily a huge issue, because for a few extra bucks you can get Windows home premium. The thing that I personally hate is that the scrolling is difficult (you will need two fingers for that) and that the device does not have the hand writing recognition ability. Touch gate- the tablet’s manager software- will offer you access to most of the build-in applications (like calculator and so on), the only one of those that is interesting enough being the FotoFun. The last thing to mention on this model would be the battery- it can run up to 5 hours of computer usage.

Acer Aspire 1825pt

We’re getting better here. One of the strengths this netbook tablet has, is the large number of ports; practically, there’s one for everything. The touchpad reacts extremely well when using it, while the extra keys you get (like the one above the keyboard that will open the Backup Manager) will definitely make your life easier. We’re talking about an average model, suitable for reasonable people that need the tablet netbook for business rather than fun.

Vilix S10

This one is the best tablet netbook to present here. It has a 10 inch screen, and it runs using Android 2.2 or Windows 7. What really impressed me was that you can play 3D games on full screen mode with absolutely no problem whatsoever. And -extremely important- the battery can last for up to 10 h, so if you need a netbook tablet pc for multimedia purposes (gaming, movies, pictures and so on) this is the netbook for you.

If you’re anxious to buy one, you should know that many computers manufacturers are seeing netbook tablet pc’s as being the future in what computers and devices mean. So here’s my advice: visit some computer stores and ask the sales people to allow you to test some netbook tablets. Try them out, see what they can do, and if you like them, buy one. You will not regret it.

I for one own one of these, the Acer presented above, and i can say that while skeptic at first, I could not now go for a regular mini laptop anymore. I just love the touchscreen and I don't think I could work without it anymore on these small netbooks. This is just the best notebook mini computer for me right now and I'm pretty sure you would love these small machines with touchscreens too, if you'd give them a try.
